Myths and Facts about Braces
As a kid, I always feared about getting braces. They were so uncool! Besides, I never thought that I need one, but my mom was convinced of the fact that only braces can get my teeth straightened.
I avoided getting the braces for as long as I could as I really felt that my crooked teeth look cute. This was when I was 10. After that, I never paid heed to my crooked teeth and because I was too stubborn a child my mother never forced me for the same.
It was when I was 24 and entered the corporate world that I realized that the crooked teeth which once I found to be cute were no longer so. I started hesitating to smile in photographs and somehow this affected my confidence. But it was too late or is it?
I then gathered courage and visited a dental clinic nearby to know if there is still a chance. Yet when I was visiting the clinic I had a lot of confusions in regard to how braces work and whether I am at the right age to get the braces and besides crooked teeth why do one needs to get braces.
My visit to the dental clinic and a consultation with the dentist cleared many doubts. All my concerns about braces were later proved to be a myth.
